| WorshipWorship takes place when people gather in the name of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, to praise him in song, to address him in prayer, to listen to him speak to them from his Word, the Bible, to listen to his Word being taught in the sermon and out of thanksgiving to give back to God in their offerings a portion of the blessings they receive from him, their Heavenly Father. There are a variety of forms that worship can take at St. Paul Lutheran Church. At 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and again at 8:15 a.m. on Sunday the worship is traditional. It uses hymns, music and worship forms that have been used across Christianity for many years. Then at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday there is a contemporary worship led by a praise team. In this service the songs that are sung and the instruments used for the accompaniment are those that generally appeal to younger people. Even though various expressions of worship are used, there are some things that remain constant. Everything centers on the Word of God and Jesus Christ, the Savior of all. The members of St. Paul Lutheran Church firmly believe that they are freely saved through their faith in Jesus. This same Jesus offers the hope of eternal life because of his victory over death at Easter. These remain constant regardless of the style of worship. | | |
