 Dear St. Paul Cougar Family,
Greetings to you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FOR 5-8 GRADE FAMILIES:
The St. Paul 8th Grade Graduation Commencement will be on Friday, May 27, at
7:00 p.m. We look forward to seeing all 5-8 grade students and families in attendance that evening for this very special St. Paul Family event.
Grades 5-7 will be singing at this service and report cards will be handed out to Grades 5-8 parents that evening.
For those of you who are new to our school over the past two years, our Commencement service has traditionally been an all-school attendance event. We had to change this during the two COVID years, but are returning to a full in-person event this year. Due to the size of our church sanctuary, we must limit the attendance to the upper grades, 5-8. Grades 5-7 have a special part in the ceremony, and we urge all 5-8 grade families to attend.
Please mark your calendars and set other routine events aside so you can be present that evening. Thank you!!

Once again, thank you for your ongoing support in making St. Paul Lutheran Church & School the vibrant ministry that it is. Please keep telling others about the great things going on here. Our mission of “Making Disciples Who Make Disciples” begins and ends with every one of us.

** If you have not yet re-enrolled for next school year, please submit your reenrollment forms as soon
as possible. Some classes have reached maximum capacity for next year and others are getting closer
each day. We are experiencing a significant amount of interest from new families and conducting
tours on an almost daily basis, so please reenroll soon to make sure your child’s spot is secured. It only takes a few minutes to fill out the form and send it back to school. Re-enrolling now also helps us with planning and budgeting for the next school year to ensure all classes’ equipment and material needs are met. **

Some other items of note:
We would love to see you in worship each weekend!
 Saturday service 5:00 p.m. Sunday services at 8:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m. (Spanish), and 11:00 a.m.

The St. Paul Lutheran Church & School Voters’ Assembly met on April 25 and voted to call an
additional teacher to our junior high teaching staff. Plans are underway to expand our classes and
improve our class schedules. We now wait for the candidate’s formal acceptance of the call. If the
candidate accepts the call, we will continue planning and announce the effects of this addition to our
staff to school families once everything has been finalized.
For more information on the call process and the different called positions within the Lutheran Church
Missouri Synod (LCMS), please click the following link: https://blog.cph.org/study/understanding-the-
differences-among-commissioned-ministry-roles

May 27 – Last day of School with Noon Dismissal / Graduation Commencement at 7:00 p.m. for

Blessings in Christ,
Eric V. Rogers, Principal

PTL News
Teacher Appreciation Week  Thank you to everyone who showed support for our teachers and staff last week!  We partnered with Boujee Boards & More to provide fabulous charcuterie boxes for lunch on Tuesday.  Panera Bread on Orchard Rd. graciously donated their end of day baked goods on Sunday.
Finally, teachers and staff enjoyed a taco buffet this past Wednesday.
Nothing Bundt Cakes  We’re currently selling Bundt cakes to raise funds for our teachers’ weekend
conference in October.  Please turn in orders and payment by Monday, May 16 th .  Orders will be
distributed after school on Wednesday, May 25 th .
Uniform Resale  Due to a lack of donations, we’ll be postponing our uniform resale.  More information
regarding new dates will be released soon.
Summer Food Drive for Kids  We’re partnering with Thrivent to host a food drive to wrap up the school
year.  Many children in our area receive free/reduced meals at school, but they don’t have access to that food during the summer.  By donating kid-friendly foods, we’re supporting our community and acting as the hands and feet of Jesus.  Items may be left in the collection box in the school entryway, and they’ll be donated to the Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry on Jericho Rd.  Our food drive will end on Friday, May 20th .
5B’s BBQ Fundraiser Join us on Sunday, May 22 nd for a BBQ fundraiser prepared by 5B’s!  This event will be held from 4:30-6:30 in the St. Paul parking lot.  All dinners include beans, coleslaw, applesauce, and a roll.  For $15, you can pick between 2 pork chops, 2 pieces of chicken, or a combo.  Hot dog meals will be available for $6.  Payment will be collected at the time of pick up (Cash or check made out to St. Paul PTL).  If you know you’ll be attending, please help us plan appropriately by ordering at the following link:  https://tinyurl.com/5BsMay22  If the weather is nice, you can “tailgate” in the parking lot or have a picnic on the soccer field!
